Certificate III in Beauty Services has been designed to develop the skills and knowledge of those employees who wish to be employed as a beauty practitioner in a salon with limited supervision, ensuring a safe working environment, providing treatments, including lash and brow treatment and temporary epilation.

Career Opportunities
Candidates undertaking this course could potentially work in the beauty field specialising in a range of beauty services and therapies and nail and beauty technologies. A likely occupation outcome would be as a Beauty Consultant, working in a salon providing a range of core services such as waxing, manicures, pedicures, nail enhancements including Gel and Acrylic and the application of makeup.
Entry Requirements
There are no prerequisites for entry into this program.
Duration & Delivery
8 months on campus. This course would be delivered over 30 weeks for 18 hours per week. The program could also be offered as a traineeship.
Assessment
Participants are assessed via completion of required tasks and a demonstration of skills, eg. Written and verbal assignments, practical work, classroom participation, projects and/or written tests.
Qualification
The Certificate III in Beauty Services is a nationally recognised qualification.

Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC)
RCC is an assessment process that involves re-assessment of a previously gained accredited qualification that may no longer be recognised by official bodies. With your current industry experience, the RCC process will involve an assessment against the current qualification. Contact the teaching department for further advice on RCC or request an information brochure from the Customer Service Centre.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL is an evidence gathering assessment process where an individual's skills and knowledge in a specific vocational area are assessed against a unit or units of a nationally accredited training package. Thus enabling them to gain part or all of a formal qualification. Contact the teaching department for further advice on RPL or request an information brochure from the Customer Service Centre.
Pathways to further VET study
Certificate III in Beauty Services can lead to Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy and the Diploma of Beauty Therapy.
