Aggreko Rental, Temperature Control
In September 2007 technical sales staff from Aggreko Rental undertook the ‘Introduction to the Dairy Industry’ short course which was conducted at the NCDEA Werribee Victoria training facility.
Aggreko requested the NCDEA to develop and conduct a short course for our staff to provide them with a greater understanding of various dairy manufacturing processes and product streams.
Aggreko is the world leader in providing temperature control and generator rental solutions to a vast range of clients and industries, as such specific process training was essential for Victorian staff given that dairy clients form such a large part of our account base in the region.
NCDEA staff spent the time to establish our specific needs and tailored a course to include the following:
- Milk composition and quality
- Micro-organisms and dairy products
- Chemical and temperature testing methods
- The milk tree. (An overview of dairy companies and the products produced)
- Unit operations. (HACCP and thermal process overview)
- Product spoilage and sensory analysis
- Food Science Australia Pilot Plant tour
The facilitators, Michael Robinson and Bernie Harrison, presented excellent and relevant topics including industry best practice and case studies in an easy to comprehend format. Course notes were clear and concise with numerous flow charts, diagrams and glossaries.
Our staff now have a much greater knowledge and appreciation of the dairy industry which has assisted them in analysing technical and operational requirements prior to submitting rental proposals.
Aggreko would highly recommend other dairy equipment suppliers and contractors to work in partnership with the NCDEA on similar training ventures.
