Our Commitment to You

Courses are available in food processing, and food science and technology. Customised short courses are available in cheese making, milk powder production, pasteurisation, ice cream production, yoghurt production, sensory analysis, microbial and chemical laboratory analysis.

The staff

NCDEA teaching staff have extensive industry experience in a wide range of food processing and related technical positions. Several staff have worked with key Australian dairy processing companies, including Murray Goulburn, Cadbury Schweppes and Peter’s Ice Cream, as well as having a wealth of experience in the delivery of both vocational education and training and tertiary education.

Campus location & facilities

The NCDEA dairy processing courses are delivered primarily at the Werribee Campus. The facilities at Werribee include a purpose designed scaled pilot factory and equipment to demonstrate the principles and operation of the common dairy food manufacturing processes.

Student facilities

Student accommodation is available onsite for up to 24 people. Each room contains a single bed, bedside table, wardrobe, draws, desk, chair and heating. All rooms are carpeted, and ensuites are shared between two rooms.

Additional facilities include a dedicated dairy science and technology library; a computer room complete with Windows XP, Office software and high-speed internet access; a student lounge with tea, coffee, kitchenette, vending machines, TV/DVD, table tennis and games area; and an outdoor barbeque area.
