NCDEA Processing Awards DayA graduation ceremony for all graduating NCDEA students was recently held in Melbourne at The Point, Albert Park Lake, which overlooked the lake and made for a beautiful backdrop for the official proceedings.
2010 Short Courses in Processing The NCDEA Werribee will again provide dairy technology short courses in 2010, commencing in February with Cheese Theory and Practice. Other short courses on offer in 2010 include, Practical Cheese Making, Farmhouse Cheese, Cheese Sensory and Judging. Each of these courses will offer a different aspect to cheese making or understanding of cheese production and processes. Scholarship for Cheese Technician NCDEA Werribee Campus technician, Janice Roberts has been chosen as a recipient of TAFE Skills Scheme Projects scholarship. Win for NCDEA trainer Justin Tefler, NCDEA trainer and the owner /cheese maker of The Bangalow Cheese Company in NSW recently won several prestigious awards at the Sydney Royal Show. Network Ten comes to the NCDEA At the recent Practical Cheesemaking course at NCDEA Werribee, the Network Ten program “Scope” paid a visit. The team from “Scope” are featuring the making of Blue vein cheese as an episode of the program which is entirely devoted to discussing moulds and fungi. Call Shirley on Honour Boards The NCDEA is pleased to announce the Gilbert Chandler College honour boards have been transferred to the safekeeping of the NCDEA Werribee. Once refurbished and updated, these boards will be located and displayed on campus in Werribee. The boards display the names of students who gained high overall achievement during their studies at Gilbert Chandler College (now the NCDEA), and several boards dating as far back as 1939. The Gilbert Chandler Ex Students Association will fund the refurbishment and updating of the boards Further information from Michael Robinson at mrobinson@ncdea.edu.au
