PROFILE - Justin Telfer

Justin Telfer learnt his craft as a cheesemaker at Gilbert Chandler Campus, University of Melbourne during 2001/2 under the guidance of renowned cheese expert Neil Willman. Justin's talent and abilities were quickly recognized and he was offered employment at the university as Neil's assistant.
He was awarded prizes for his cheese at the 2008 Brisbane Cheese Awards. Justin's "Byron Bay Blue" was awarded the trophy for the Best Blue Vein Cheese. At two regional shows in Gippsland, Victoria, Justin's blue cheese won "First Prize" and "People's Choice" and he was awarded a Gold Medal for a Washed Rind Cheese at the 2004 Australian Specialist Cheesemakers Association (ASCA) Awards.
In addition Justin has performed the role of cheese judge and has conducted an industry Research and Development project for presentation at the ASCA awards.
