Narelle Savige
“The class work is very practical which will help when I get a job... the course really pushes me.”
Narelle as a fourth generation dairy farmer is destined to take on the family farm. Narelle contends that “I have always wanted to work in the dairy industry as there are some many avenues. You can do marketing, become a field rep or a farm hand or aspire to dairy farm management. This course just leads to so many opportunities.”
Narelle suggest that one of the advantages of studying with the NCDEA is the smaller class sizes, “With the small classes you get to form close bonds with others and make really good friends., as well as receive personal attention from the teachers.”
But the highlight is the balance between theory and practice, “With the placement aspect it’s great to get out in the field . . . . you can get placed in different states and experience a wide range of
farming systems.”
“Dad has even been inspired to change the way he operates our home farm based on what I have experienced on some of my farm placements. So, not only am I learning from the course, it also is helping to make my parent’s farm business more profitable,” Narelle said.
