Stephanie Heazlewood
“I love this course . I wouldn’t choose to do anything else... this course gives you a holistic perspective where you graduate at a management level , but you have an understanding and experience at the operational level also.”
While Stephanie comes from a beef background, it was dairying that appealed to her as the dairy industry provides more opportunities for women, “When I looked into the dairy industry I didn’t realise the breath of career opportunities, with endless career prospects for women. You don’t have to be a farm manager; women can be employed as field officers, technicians and in business development throughout the dairy industry, highlights Stephanie.
Stephanie completed a Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETis) program in Years 11 and 12. While the program was aimed at the beef industry, this put Stephanie in good steed to be accepted into the Advanced Diploma with the NCDEA. Upon successful completion of this qualification Stephanie anticipates that she will complete a Bachelor of Agriculture as she hopes to get into genetics and dairy cow nutrition. Stephanie contends that, “The Advanced Diploma is a great stepping stone to the degree I want to complete. I will get some credits for the Advanced Diploma qualification so the degree won’t take me the usual three years.”
“Friendship is one of the greatest aspects about the NCDEA course. You get to meet so many different types of people. Also, due to the initiate class sizes, you don’t need to compete for the teacher’s attention. I would recommend studying with the NCDEA to anyone.”
